Pedersen, Faye Louise, age 80 of Gull Lake passed away April 18, 2021 at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. The private family graveside service was held at 2:00, Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at the Gull Lake Cemetery with Rev. Ken Schrag officiating. The tribute was given by Faye's nephew, Dan Hall. Pallbearers were Jesse Orton, Caleb Orton, Grant Nesbitt, Tim Jones, Murray Jones and Warren Girodat. Faye is survived by her husband of almost 57 years Roy Pedersen, son Brent Pedersen, Daughter Carla (Reg) Orton, grandchildren Jesse (Kendra) Orton, Caleb (Morgan Tetlock) Orton, and Abby Orton, great grandchildren Eve and Rowan Orton. She is also survived by her sister Carol (Philip) Nesbitt, sisters-in-law Marion St. John, Verna Jones and Viola Pedersen and Aunt Marg Swenson and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Carl and Ruby (Stenson) Swenson, sister Doris (Walter) Hall, brothers and sisters-in-law Elden (Marguerite) Pedersen, Ralph (Marion) Pedersen, Jim St. John, Howard Pedersen, Marjorie (Cecil) Huntley, Alma (Dick) O'Connor, Gerald Jones, and Jim (Pat) Pedersen. Faye was born November 10, 1940 in Gull Lake, Saskatchewan where she attended school. She worked for 7 years in both Gull Lake and Swift Current at the telephone office. She married Roy Pedersen of Gull Lake on June 12, 1964 at the Knox United Church. Faye chose to leave the workforce when she and Roy were married and she babysat in their home until they were blessed with their own children; Brent in 1970 and Carla in 1974. Faye was passionate about her creative pursuits, which included knitting, crocheting, and sewing. Many family members have been gifted beautiful afghans, baby shawls, Christmas stockings and ornaments, doilies, and doll clothes through the years. Faye also knit many pairs of slippers and donated them to Ronald McDonald House. She enjoyed going for coffee with her friends each Saturday until Covid changed things. Faye had a special relationship with her grandkids and they learned to play crib, thirty-one and other fun card games with Grandma. Faye enjoyed reading, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and watching the Food Network and her "soaps." She enjoyed finding new recipes and had a massive collection of cookbooks and recipes she had collected from magazines over the years. Faye was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be forever missed. Faye's family would like to thank the Gull Lake Ambulance staff and the staff at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional hospital for the exceptional care she received this past week.
