Faith Talaga Obituary

It is with great sadness, that the family of Faith Talaga, announces her passing on September 26, 2020, at Cypress Regional Hospital.   Faith was born in Matsqui, British Columbia on May 31, 1934.  Faith married Ed Talaga on November 12, 1955, and they were married for almost 65 years.  Together, they had 6 children, 9 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.  They lived in Edmonton, Peace River and Regina, before moving to Swift Current in 1977, where they built a business together.  Faith was a part owner and the bookkeeper at Armstrong Implements from 1977 to 1993.

Faith was a much-loved wife, mother, and grandmother.  She was a loyal friend, and had many lifelong friendships.   She was always thoughtful and kind to others, and was a wonderful listener and sounding board.  She also had a lovely, warm sense of humor, and laughed often.  She loved to knit, and made blankets for every one of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Faith also loved to travel, and she and Ed explored the world together, visiting New Zealand, many countries in Europe and the Caribbean.  Her favorite destination however was Aruba, where she and Ed visited for 35 years.  She loved the ocean, warm sun, beautiful beaches and her many friends there. Faith was active in the community, volunteering with the Kinettes and UCW at First United Church for many years.  She was also an avid reader, and enjoyed puzzles, and golfing, bowling, and curling with her friends and family.

Family was very important to Faith, and she dedicated her life to instilling confidence and strong values in her children and grandchildren.  Faith is survived by her husband Ed Talaga, her children Susan Brown (grandson Steven), Bob Talaga (Laurie, grandchildren Kelsey, Brandon, and Brett), Beth Vachon (Lance, grandsons Greg, David, and Jay), Kathy Robson (Dean, granddaughters Brooke and Laura), and Michael Talaga (D’Lores), and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Faith was predeceased by her parents, Oswald and Mary Minto, her siblings, Eleanor Fisher, Barbara Jewell, David Minto, and Rae Krischke, her son, Brian Talaga, and her son in law, Terry Brown.
