Eva Larter


Eva Larter was born in Herbert, SK on June 1, 1923. She peacefully passed away on January 30, 2020 at the Swift Current hospital. Eva's funeral was held at St. Stephen's Anglican Church on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. A viewing for Eva was held at Warren's Funeral Home on Friday, February 7th from 4-4:45 p.m. She is survived by her daughter Crystal and her granddaughter Bambi Langlois (Mike). She was predeceased by her mother, Justina, her father, Abram, her first husband, Jess Friesen, her second husband, Joseph Larter, her son, David Larter, plus many sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews and cousins. Eva was an excellent cook and baker. She came from a family of 13 and the girls were known for their baking and cooking. Kay Ellerman owned restaurants in Swift Current while Helen Simonson cooked and baked at her home and is especially remembered for her delicious jams, jellies, syrups and buns. They all loved berry picking. Eva Larter was always remembered for having a smile on her face and her kind and generous nature. Eva was an excellent mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend to all who knew her. Eva loved, lived with and looked after her son David. Eva loved her granddaughter, Bambi with all her heart. Eva enjoyed family trips to Hawaii, Disneyland in California, Disneyworld in Florida, Reno in Nevada and numerous trips to Las Vegas in Nevada. Eva loved her trips to Calgary for the Stampede Rodeo and Chuckwagon Races. Then off to Banff, Medicine Hat and the West Edmonton Mall. Bambi, Mike and Crystal also took them to the Jubilations Dinner Theatre, malls, theatres and Calgary Casinos. We also took numerous trips to visit Eva's sisters and brothers. Crystal and Dan Schultz took Eva and David on various outings and trips. Eva worked at the Swift Current Horseplant, Co-op Cafeteria, and Safeway where she won numerous awards for her courtesy and speed on the cash register plus she was awarded the prestigious phantom award for being the best cashier in all of Canada, plus she also looked after the Swift Current prisoners for the Police Department. Eva was a Legion member for over 40 years. Eva enjoyed her time spent with Vicki, Christopher, Robyn, Danny, Johnny, Shauna, Doreen, Paul, Marvin, Morley, Willard, Kim, Greg, Dan, Ron, Susan, Andrew, Diana, Stuart, Danielle and Ty. Eva's family respected her wishes to remain living in her own home, and she never had to go live in a care home. Thanks to all of you for coming to share this special time with us by attending Eva's funeral. Eva will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her family and all who were lucky enough to share her life. Special thanks to Dr. Sam Bakare who was kind and thoughtful during this difficult time. Thanks to Home Care, Clover House and Units 3 and 4 at the Swift Current Hospital.
