McMullen, Ethel passed away peacefully at the Prairie View Health Centre in Mankota on January 20, 2023 with her family at her side. Ethel was born on February 6, 1928 on the Clews family farm in Pangman. She was the fourth child for Charlie and Kate Clews. Ethel is survived by her four children: Dianne, Ken (Diane), Cathie (Leonard), and Lois; grandchildren: Cindy, Jennifer, Lisa, Rachelle, Trevor, Jason, and Megan; as well as nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents Charles and Kate Clews; her husband "Buzz" Clarence; brothers: Wilfred and Alan; sister Kathleen; son-in-laws: Doug and Gary; grand son-in-law Dennis; great grandson Jacob. Ethel grew up on the family farm one mile south of Pangman. After finishing school Mom decided to work for the Royal Bank and started out in Ogema, then Arcola, and Cadillac. Mom met dad in Cadillac and they were married in the summer of 1952 in Pangman. Buzz was a grain buyer and they started out in Instow. While there the first three children were born. They transferred to Kincaid in 1957. While in Kincaid a fourth child was born to complete the family. Ethel was involved in Rebecca Lodge United Church, as well as the activities that the kids were involved in. Ethel started back to work at the CIBC in Kincaid in 1970. In 1972 the family took another transfer to Sanctuary. She then started back to work in Elrose with the Royal Bank. In 1978 dad passed away. Mom moved to Swift Current in July of 1979 where she resided for the next 41 years. After dad passed away mom enjoyed traveling with her sister Kay. A couple of places they travelled to where Spain and Alaska. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whether she travelled to them or they came to visit her. Mom spent many hours knitting sweaters and sewing clothing for them when they were young. When COVID hit she decided to move to the Prairie View Health Centre in Mankota. She was one of the lucky ones as Cathie worked there and she got to see family where as no family was allowed in the building. We would like to thank the staff for all the care over the 2 1/2 years that mom was there. We would also like to thank Warren's Funeral Home for making the arrangements with us. A private service will be held at a later date. Donations can be made to the Prairie View Health Centre Mankota Auxiliary, 241 1st Ave, Mankota, Saskatchewan S0H 2W0.
