Elmer was born in Swift Current on August 20, 1926 to John & Alice Carleton. Elmer & Alwyne were married on June 5, 1950. Elmer was self-employed as a grain farmer for his entire life. Elmer's proudest accomplishment was that he actively farmed and operated machinery up until the last couple years. Throughout Dad's farming career he operated everything from horse drawn machinery to the technology of today's modern equipment. Dad was a private man whose priority was always his family. Some of his favorite moments were making sure everyone had a boat ride or chance to go water skiing at Lac Pelletier, his travels to Nelson, BC to visit his daughters family, and everyday that he spent at the farm with his sons. In Elmer's spare time he enjoyed collecting and maintaining antique cars, trucks and machinery. Elmer will be sadly missed, but his legacy will continue through his family.
A private family graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery at a later date. Donations can be made to a charity of your choice. Warren's Funeral Home were entrusted with the arrangements.
