Ellen Fehr

Fehr: Ellen Marie Fehr (Nee:Eggum) of Swift Current, Sk passed away peaceful on June 24, 2021. A Family Memorial Service was held on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 from the Chapel of Warren's Funeral Home with Brad Eggum officiating. The Interment Service took place at Halbrite Cemetery. Mom was born in Halbrite, Saskatchewan to Kristian and Alice Eggum. She was the seventh of eight children, (Reg, Dora, Norman, Kris, Nels, Melvin, Ellen and Gladys). Mom married her first love, Ralph Coltart in February of 1959. Along came Fay Marie, Susan Marie, Tina Marie and Veronica Marie, better known as the "Sweet Maries". They farmed at the Coltart farm near Ralph, Saskatchewan but later got involved in the oilfield, which steered them to Estevan and finally to Swift Current. In 1981, Mom married Pete Fehr and then Pete C, their son arrived. Mom was predeceased by their daughter Oliva Marie in 1986. In 1995, Mom settled in Stettler, Alberta with her companion Art Kiel. There she worked very hard and long hours managing the apartments. She took pride in a job well done and enjoyed it at the same time. Mom also enjoyed dancing, dancing and more dancing. There was always time for a game of cards, dinner theatres, and most importantly, family. Laughter was her best medicine, she always had a joke to tell. In her retirement, Mom moved back to Swift Current to be with her family and long time friends. Mom was the social convenor for her friends. She loved having friends over for a meal and a game of cards. She was always happy to give a ride to someone if they needed it, or even just go out for an ice cream or breakfast. She loved watching a variety of TV shows like Wheel of Fortune, movies and the birds that would bathe in her birdbath. She leaves a legacy of laughter, love and music. Mom will be sadly missed by her brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In Ellen's memory, memorial donation may be made to the Swift Current S.P.C.A.
