NOBBS (nee Geddes) Elizabeth "Beth" Alison of Leader, SK and formerly of Lancer, SK, passed away on May 4, 2021 at the age of 88 at the Leader Hospital with family at her side. She was born on November 14, 1932 and raised in Saskatoon, SK. Beth was working at Turner Insurance when she met a farmer from Lancer while he was selling real estate in Saskatoon for the winter. She would marry Laverne Nobbs in 1959 and they would split their time between living in Saskatoon in the winter and on the farm north of Lancer during seeding and harvest. In 1970 they adopted their first son David and in 1975 their second son Lindsay. In 1975 the new house was built on the farm so this put an end to their winters in Saskatoon. Beth was very involved in the community, serving on the local school, church and credit union boards. She was a founding member of the Lancer Tennis Club as well as being involved with the Saskatchewan Flying Farmers Association and the Abbey Legion Auxiliary. Beth moved to Leader in 2013 after the passing of Laverne. She was fortunate to make many new friends, partly through events at the Friendship Centre. She thoroughly enjoyed reading, cooking, gardening, playing tennis, watching curling, discussing politics, travelling and spending time with family and friends, especially her grandson. Beth is survived by her sons David (Sherry) and Lindsay (Tansy) and grandson Chase. She is predeceased by her parents David and Pearl Geddes and her husband Laverne. A private graveside service was held Saturday May 15th at 2:00 pm at the Lancer Memorial Cemetery with Deacon David Hagel officiating. The eulogy was given by David Nobbs and Denise Bradford sang Amazing Grace. Urn bearer was Chase Nobbs and honorary pallbearers were her nieces and nephews and her "Coffee Ladies". In her memory, donations may be made to the Leader Friendship Centre, P.O. Box 450, Leader, SK S0N 1H0. Warren's Funeral Home were entrusted with the arrangements.
