Elizabeth Zeller Obituary

ZELLER: Elizabeth Ann nee Koshney was born in Gull Lake, SK on October 4, 1931 and passed away on April 19, 2021 after completing her life journey with her children and family members by her side. She is the fifth child of Anna Isabelle Suchla and Peter Paul Koshney. Her siblings are Alphonse Koshney (deceased), Albert Koshney (deceased in WWII), Hilda Hay (deceased), Margaret Hay (deceased), Julia Griffin, John Koshney and Larry Koshney. She is the mother of six children: Anthony Olsgard (deceased), Theresa Eyre Klassen (Trevor and Craig), Barbara Olsgard Winquist (Aubrey Winquist, Brandace Winquist Bang, Brianne Winquist Almasi, Heath Winquist, Brittany Winquist Curtis and Lucas Winquist), Gregory Olsgard (Cara Olsgard Elson, Megan Olsgard and Chantel Olsgard Benallack), Francis Olsgard and Vanessa Butler (Zachary Butler and Alexandra Butler). Her great grandchildren are: Samuel Winquist, Maryn Winquist, Tristan Bang, Lara Bang, Tyler Bang, Legacie Eyre, Andrew Almasi, Tobin Almasi, Hunter Winquist, Hailee Winquist, Heatyn Winquist, Hardy Winquist, Talia Elson, Chase Elson, Nathanael Curtis, Ellawynn Curits, Aurelia Curtis, Isabelle Curtis, Kingston Winquist, Kaymen Winquist, Hudson and Cash Benallack. Her early life began in Gull Lake, SK graduating from Gull Lake High School. She moved to Lethbridge, AB and was employed in a department store in her early adult life. Elizabeth (Betty) married Willard Olsgard in 1950 and moved to Hazlet, SK whereupon six children were born to this union and she became a farm wife for the next 24 years and was predeceased by him in 1982. She married James Zeller and he passed away in 1983 after moving to Gull Lake. She gained employment in various businesses such as Fay's Fashions 1974-1977 and for the Saskatchewan Health Authority from 1977-1992 and in her retirement continued with her alteration business being a seamstress. She was a dutiful mother with much character and style being a seamstress making beautiful clothes for many of her friends and relatives. Her culinary skills were top notch being possessed of an exquisite talent in the creation of amazing meals for family holidays. She celebrated Christmas and other family gatherings going the extra mile to ensure all her guests were cared for with diligent expertise. She was a beautiful woman and exemplary mother with a soul that matched whether in acts of charity, praying for those in need and always being available for functions in Church activities. Her quiet demeanor maintained her dignity through her final battle with physical decline whereupon her never succumbed to despair rarely complaining of her pain and physical suffering. She was a woman of great faith and a life long member of St. Anne's Parish. Her life was not without misfortune and she carried her crosses with perseverance as a child of the prairie pioneers and knew great hardship with much sacrifice during her youth. Her almost 90 years on earth were significant, not with an esteemed education or great wealth but in the spirit of duty, honor and love.
