Elaine Cupples

Elaine was born on October 10, 1932, in Kincaid , Saskatchewan and passed away January 28,2023 at Clover House in Swift Current , Saskatchewan. She is survived and mourned by her husband of 68 years Mel. Daughter Debbie (Leonard) McCrea, granddaughter Shyla (Sean) Lacroix, grandson Layne (Tiffany) Chet and Daisy , grandson Dillan. Son Jay (Lynn), grandson Deon (Amber Rowson), Kylie, granddaughter Justine (Lance) Protz Emery and Renley . Sisters-in-law Gwen and Arlene Cupples and numerous nieces and nephews . Elaine is predeceased by her parents John and Minnie (Linstead) Sabo. Siblings Irene (Charlie) Angus, Mabel (Ron Paton) (Archie Simpson), Florenece (Ron) Cowie, Ruby (Hugh) Munn, Marvin, Orville (Freida), Louella (Sid) Emms, Joyce (Wilfred) Fehr. Brothers-in-law David and Wes, Sister-in-law Nedra (Kohl) Cupples and also multiple nieces and nephews . Elaine was raised on a farm south of Hazenmore and attended various country schools. Arriving at school on a horse and buggy, Elaine told of cranky bulls and threating dogs. Scary when you had to jump out and open the gate ! Mel and Elaine dated for five years before marrying on November 1, 1954. Settling on a farm south of Mankota  life was busy . Elaine enjoyed helping build their farm and raise their children. Square dancing and fun at family gatherings, entertaining friends and cooking up stacks of pancakes for bachelors were fond memories. Moving to Swift Current in 1979 brought new activities . Elaine enjoyed bingo, golfing, and bowling. She was always up for a game of cards or scrabble . Many games of pool in their basement were played . Traveling with new friends created lasting memories and precious friendships . She lived by the Golden Rule and was soft spoken, patient, and kind. Elaine was the perfect Grandma and Great Grandma. We will miss the daily phone calls and visits. Rest easy Elaine. The funeral will be held at Warren's Funeral Home in Swift Current on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 11:00 am, followed by a private interment, and a 2:00 lunch at the Mankota Hall.
