Edna King

Edna Elma King passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at the age of 96 years old at The Meadows in Swift Current, Saskatchewan.  The Memorial Service for Edna took place on Monday, May 4th, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. from Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Swift Current, Saskatchewan with Pastor Travis Hiede officiating.  The interment was held at Memory Gardens Cemetery prior to the service.  The Honorary Urn Bearers were all who shared in Edna’s life.

Edna was born on the family farm near Rush Lake, SK on November 30, 1929 to Henry and Helene Becker.   She attended school at the Salt Lake School.  On February 7, 1953, Edna married Leslie Arthur King.  She was employed at CNA at Swift Current Health Region and also the Research Station. 

Edna was a member of the Swift Current Square-Dancing Club and the Swift Current Red Hats.  She also had a variety of hobbies including, painting rocks and ornaments, she enjoyed playing cards, dancing, many kinds of needle work, and of course coffee with good friends.

Edna had a deep and abiding faith in her Lord Jesus Christ and instilled those values in her children and grandchildren.  She leaves behind a legacy that lives on in them. 

Edna is survived by her children: Robert (Beth) King, Lawrence (Debbi Gola) King, Diane (Mike) Heschel; grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother Marvin Becker; sister Doris King; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband Leslie King; her parents and numerous family members.
