Edna Gerlach

Edna Marie Gerlach of Swift Current passed away May 4, 2026, at the Cypress Regional Hospital.

She was born at the Swift Current Union Hospital, December 9, 1955, to Victor and Katherine Gerlach.

She is survived by her twin sister Agnes (David) Dueck, brother Bernie Gerlach, sister Shirley (Richard) Fast, brother Bill (Maureen), sister Wilma (Dale) Wenarchuk, sister Jackie (Louis) Champagne, half-sister Laura (Rob) Hildebrand. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her grandparents, her mother and father, and one nephew Richard Bryce Fast, and one great-nephew Samuel Paul Dueck.

Edna enjoyed going for coffee to A&W with her special friend of 50 years, Brian Tumbler, of which they took many trips together. She enjoyed playing Bingo with her friends at the Legion Hall, and also playing various games with her mother, and doing puzzles. She also loved watching her Soap Operas. Edna loved animals, and especially her cats.

Edna was resident at the long-term care facility in Leader, Sask. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff in Leader, and most recently the ICU Nurses and Doctors at Cypress Regional Hospital. A special thanks to Subway, Swift Current for supplying the lunch for the family. Also, thank you to Wildflower Florists of Swift Current for the floral arrangements.

Edna will be forever loved and dearly missed by all who knew her.

The funeral service was held on May 9, at Warren’s Funeral Chapel. Private, immediate family interment followed at Memory Gardens with Rev. Ray Friesen officiating.
