We are saddened to announce the passing of Dustin Empey on April 7,2026. Dustin was born on November 4, 1986, in Swift Current.
Dustin worked many jobs throughout his life, doing carpentry, Viking Air, building planes, and currently as a Nitro Millwright as an apprentice. He had a huge love for the outdoors, whether it was spending time with his boys, fishing with family, hunting with his dad and brother, riding a dirt bike with his brother, or flyfishing. Dustin had a contagious personality that touched the hearts of so many people, and was quick to get you laughing. Dustin was always quick to help a friend whenever they needed them. Whatever his boys needed, he did what he could to make it happen. He was always so loving and supportive.
He is survived by his ex-wife and friend Jolene Empey, their sons Maverick and Nixon Empey, grandma Judy Empey, grandma Rose Peters, Dad Trent (Judy) Empey, Mom Rhonda (Blaine) Metcalf, brother Derek Empey (Stephanie Hingley), and nephew Brody Lavalle and Hunter Tuffs, niece Emily Hingley and Corney Peters, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Dustin was predeceased by Grandpa Don Empey, Grandpa George Patton, and Grandpa Fred Borman.
There will be a Celebration of Life on April 18, 2026, at Neville Gym at 11:00 a.m. We would love to have all his friends and family come out and share all their wonderful, special memories with us in His honor.
Ride with the wind Duster, and soar with the Eagles, our sweet Dustin. Your wings were ready, our hearts were not.
