Dorothy Dafoe

We are sad to announce the passing of Dorothy Dafoe age 80 of Swift Current, SK on June 30, 2022 at Cypress House. Dorothy is survived by her husband Bob; her grandson Drayden; sisters Diane Billingday and Darlene Dawkins; brother Herb Jones; and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents Herb and Eva Jones; sister Loreta Jones; sadly by her two sons Darryl in 2011 and Larry in 2019 of which she never really got over the loses. Dorothy was born in Esterhazy, SK on February 20, 1942 and attended school in Bangor, SK. Dorothy married Bob Dafoe on July 1, 1966 in Yorkton, SK. Dorothy was employed as a social worker and councilor in Swift Current. Dorothy loved curling and was a member of the Swift Current Curling Club. She would often come home from the late draws, very cold and would hop into a hot bath. On a return trip from a bonspiel in Cabri the team stopped in Pennant where they learned to shoot pool at the local establishment. Dorothy's intrests were her family and spent many summers at the cottage at Lac Pellitier. Our 22 winters in Yuma, AZ kept us both young. She learned to down hill ski and we went on many trips to Montana, Sunshine and Lake Louise. A memorial service will take place at a later date.
