Donald Davidson Obituary

It is with great sadness the family of Donald Davidson announce his passing on October 7, 2021 at the age of 89. As one of ten children, he was born July 16th, 1932 to parents Roland and Emma Davidson on the family farm near McCord Saskatchewan. Donald was predeceased by his parents Roland (1984) and Emma (1981); his wife Martha (nee Stengler 2020); his sisters Virginia (1929) Lorraine (1930) Jean (2019) Ruth (1992) and Doris (2017); his brothers Jack (1966) and Glen (1945); and Grandson Justin (2000).
In 1956 he married the love of his life, Martha and together they raised a beautiful family on the family farm south of Ferland. Don had an incredible work ethic, running the family farm, working side by side with his father Roland and later with his own family. He always found a way to connect with his grandchildren with nicknames and hilarious songs.
Donald is lovingly remembered by his 7 children, June (Bill), Keith (Colleen), Randall (Laurie), Deidre, Roland (Erin), Jacqueline (Cameron) and Karen; 23 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and 3 great, great grandchildren; and his dear sisters Belle Harford and Myrtle Ness. He was also a cherished uncle to his many nieces and nephews on both the Stengler and Davidson sides of the family.
Don had a huge passion for music, loved to play the harmonica, sang in the church choir, and played in bands throughout his life. He always loved to tell a good joke and laugh heartily with his family and friends. Don had a knack for finding almost anything and was a master at finding a bargain.
Not only did he have close relationships with his family, but he also frequently attended church where he made plenty of friends. He loved to chat over coffee after church and enjoy a good meal at home with his family afterwards. Don was a big lover of food and cherished nothing more than gathering around the table and enjoying good company. He also appreciated a good card game of Whist where he would teach everyone around him the rules. He always made sure his friends and family knew right away if they had violated the first slough invite rule.
Don lived an incredible life, filled with laughter and love, and he will be deeply missed by the family and friends who keep his memory close to their hearts.
Prayer services will be held on Sunday October 17th at 7:00 pm. The funeral will be held Monday October 18, 11:00 am at Christ the Redeemer Roman Catholic Church. The burial to be held at Billimun church afterwards. Donations in Don's memory can be made to Christ The Redeemer Parish 1850 Springs Gate Swift Current, SK S9H 4E1.
