Dolores Heinrichs passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024 at the age of 87. Dolores was born to Peter and Margaret Loeppky on July 28, 1937.
Dolores grew up in Wymark, Saskatchewan along with her brothers and sisters, Everett, Dallas, Deloraine, Leroy and Dennis. Brothers Everett, Leroy and Donald survived her.
Dolores married Henry Heinrichs of McMahon, Saskatchewan on October 9, 1955 and they settled in Swift Current. They raised four children: Greg, Glenda, Gerald and Galen.
Together Henry and Dolores had a wonderful family life that was arguably second to none. A life full of camping, church activities, and more supper and outdoor events with family and friends that can be counted. They lived on the same block for 57 years and especially treasured the close and long-lasting relationships with their neighbours.
Dolores enjoyed quilting, Christian Women’s Club, Friendship Bible Studies, and family history stories. She was also well known in Swift Current for organizing the Salvation Army kettles every Christmas for ten years. Her kitchen was an almost famous meeting place that served endless pots of tea right into 2024. Dolores will always be fondly remembered for her passion to engage in heart-felt conversations as she found endless pleasure in the intimate company of her family and friends.
Henry passed away April 27, 2021. But before he died, Dolores and Henry enjoyed more than two decades of retired life. Dolores carried on in the family home until only a few weeks before she passed away. The family says thank you to the caring professionals and staff at Swift Current’s Cypress Regional Hospital.
Dolores is survived by her four children and 11 grandchildren: Christina (Greg and Roberta); Jamaal, Chantelle, Chelsea, and Chevonne (Glenda); Edward, Vivian and Mark (Gerald and Therese); Samuel, Reagan, and Joseph (Galen and Leanne). Dolores was no less proud of her three great grandchildren: Teashen (Chelsea); Darian and Winston (Chantelle and David Koop).
A memorial service for Dolores will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at the Community Baptist Church in Swift Current, Saskatchewan with Pastor Joell Haugen officiating.
