The family of Dennis Wagner announces his passing on December 22, 2024 at the Swift Current Cypress Regional Hospital, after a battle with cancer.
Born October 9, 1943 in Regina to Henry and Kathleen Wagner. His family later moved to Swift Current where Dennis attended Elmwood Elementary School and Beattie Collegiate High School. Dennis moved to Regina to attend The University of Regina for one semester then began his career at SGI in salvage, where he met MaryAnn Zahariuk. They married on January 8, 1966 in Regina. Shortly after Deanna was born. Their young family moved to Saskatoon to continue his career as a road adjuster, then welcomed Lynette. Over the next 13 years, Dennis and MaryAnn made many memories with family and friends playing cards, and hosting grey cup parties.
In 1979, Dennis transferred to the Swift Current office as a senior adjuster. Dennis cherished the time he spent with many coworkers. He retired in 1992 where he then focused his time on his hobby business, Deny’s Supplies and Service, installing and maintaining sprinklers for Swift Current and the surrounding area. Working on sprinklers well into October of this year.
Dennis is survived by his wife MaryAnn of almost 59 years; daughters Deanna (Brian) Blanke, Lynette Wagner (Jeff Popenia); grandchildren Ashley (Curtis) Schwartz, Andy (Becca) Blanke, Liam (Dana) Jordan, Zane Jordan (Jaylene Kapimatahat); great grandchildren Hayes, Kyler, Maisy, Lottie, Quincy, and Lina; numerous nieces and nephews.
Dennis is predeceased by his parents Henry and Kathleen Wagner; in-laws Alex and Virginia Zahariuk; step father Gordon Harris; brother Gary Wagner; sisters Yvonne Dewar and June Feil; brother-in-law Roy Feil, Ted and Gordon Zahariuk; sister-in-law Arlene Zahariuk; nieces Tammy and Shelly Wagner; great nephew Mitchel Dahl. The family would like to thank the nurses and Doctors on the Medical Surgical ward at the CRH for the outstanding care provided to Dennis at the end of life.
