Darren McClelland

MCCLELLAND: Darren James age 48 of Swift Current, SK passed away on January 20, 2020 at the Clover House. The memorial service is being held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 27, 2020 from the Credit Union I-plex with Reverend Dave Smith officiating. Darren is survived by his wife Nicole McClelland; his daughters Ashley and Hayley McClelland and his parents Jim and Brenda McClelland; brother Derek McClelland and his children Jocelyn and Cody; sister Kimbrin (Cory Carlson) and their children Tayvin and Kelby; parents-in-law Cecil and Jackie Coward; brother-in-law Russell (Sarah) Coward and their children Austin and Morgan Coward and Cole and Cassie Meyer; and his grandmother-in-law Eleanor Fischer. He is predeceased by his son Ryan McClelland; his grandparents Ernest and Viola Lott; grandma Verna (nee McClelland) Lafreniere; Romeo Lafreniere; Wayne McClelland; Sharon McClelland; Steve McClelland and Gerald Picouye.
Darren was born in Weyburn, SK on August 22, 1971 and he attended school in Dinsmore, Loon Lake and Mankota. He married Nicole Coward in Swift Current on November 4, 1995. Darren worked at the Swift Current and District Ambulance and Swift Current Fire Department and was currently the Fire Chief. He enjoyed all sports, working in the yard and loved to spend time with family and friends. He loved his job and work family completely. Darren was very proud to be a member of the Swift Current Fire Department and considered his co-workers as family. Darren fought cancer for the last 3 1/2 years and after fighting so hard he lost the battle. He will be forever missed.
