Obituary

Victor (Dale) Johnson (age 74) passed away with his family by his side on May 9th, 2023 at The Meadows (House 7) in Swift Current, Saskatchewan.  The Celebration of Life was held on May 19th, 2023 at the First United Church Auditorium.

Dale is survived by his wife Lynda (Bovee) Johnson; daughter Kersten Johnson, son Mark Johnson, son Tye Johnson (Nicole) and grandson Karson; sister Marilyn Turgeon (Lanny); nephews Olan Turgeon (Michelle), and Aron Turgeon (Alexis); uncle Sixten Johnson; cousin Cameron Johnson; sister in-law Dalice Abraham (Max) who were a great support; nephew Brady Abraham (Jill); niece Alicia Regier (Matthew); brother in-law Dan Bovee (Donalee); nephew Jeff Bovee (Sabrina); niece Jenna Langford (Sean); niece Jodi Bovee; and many great-nieces and nephews.
Dale is predeceased by his mother and father Velma and Victor Johnson; mother and father in-law Alice and Rex Bovee; and nephew David Abraham.

Dale took his schooling at Abbey, Saskatchewan.  He worked several jobs but eventually worked for Francana Minerals for many years, as well as running a small cattle operation.  In 1973 Dale married the love of his life, Lynda Bovee, from Cabri, Saskatchewan.  Kersten arrived in 1975 and Mark followed in 1977.  In 1979 we moved to the Swift Current area and Tye completed our family in 1981.

Our lives were busy raising our family.  Dale went back to school and became a Power Engineer enabling a 25 year career at the Palliser Hospital.  We were fortunate enough to have travelled to Las Vegas, Hawaii, Philippines, and most of Western Canada with many trips to the west coast.  Dale really enjoyed trail rides with friends over the years.  He loved seeing the beautiful landscapes on horseback.  Dale enjoyed auction sales, wheeling and dealing, antiques, cars, all music and had a love for animals.

Dale was a devoted husband and a wonderful father.  He was so proud of his family.  Dale was always teaching through example, playing games, making life fun.  He was always patient and kind.
Our family would like to thank the wonderful staff that took care of Dale at the Meadows.  We are forever grateful!  Donations would be appreciated to The Meadows Auxiliary for Silver Wings Access Van  308-230 Lister Kaye Cres, Swift Current, Saskatchewan S9H 0A1.  Arrangements entrusted to Warren's Funeral Home, for further information please call 1-306-773-8831 or 1-800-267-6606, or visit our website at www.warrensfuneralhome.com, and express your sympathy to family members on the tribute wall.
