Colin Potter Obituary

POTTER: Mr. Colin C. of Swift Current, SK, passed away unexpectedly at his home on August 25, 2020. Colin was born on January 26, 1955 in Swift Current. He completed his early education at Central School and the Swift Current Comprehensive High School, before moving to Calgary where he where he earned his BSc degree in Geophysics at the U of C. Colin spent most of his working life in geophysics in the Calgary area (CREWS project, CCP Geosolutions) as well as a year in Hawaii. Colin will be remembered for enjoying life to the fullest. We all totally enjoyed his honesty, sensitivity and especially his humor and fun-loving attitude. Colin was passionate about all genres of music, particularly the blues, and loved travelling all over North America to attend performances and festivals. He always enjoyed the ice hockey world, both as a player and as a fan, and he loved to be outdoors. Colin often volunteered his time to assist organizers of tournaments and festivals. Colin is predeceased by his mother and father Anna and Chester Potter; his younger brother Ryan (Wendy and Corina); and his older sister Vickie (Neil) Woodward and her son Mark Woodward. He is survived by his brothers Clifton (Erica/Nicki) and their sons Greg (Kristin) and Brian (Vicky Howe), and Neil (Yvonne) and their children Melissa, Jessica (Rob Voss) and  Michael. Vicky's daughter Stacey Woodward; Ryan's children Elizabeth (Macklin) and Ethan; his former wife Judy Potter; and a number of grand nieces and nephews. Colin was cremated and his ashes scattered by his family as per his wishes on September 4, 2020. We will all miss Colin's smile and strong loving spirit.
