It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Christopher Lee Collens announce his sudden passing at his home in Swift Current at the age of 54. A private family service will take place at later date. Chris is survived by his parents Lee and Shirley; his daughter Victoria; brother Shawn; niece Koral; and nephews Kyler and Nathaniel. He is predeceased by his grandparents Frank & Ceilia and Milton & June. Chris was born in Abbotsford, BC and attended school in Abbotsford from kindergarden to grade 2 and then in Gull Lake, SK for grades 3 through 12. Chris worked in the oil fields in Saskatchewan, and for Yukon Power in Whitehorse before starting his own food catering service in Whitehorse before moving back to Swift Current in 2005. Chris joined the gym where he enjoyed weight lifting. When Chris was younger he enjoyed going to the Chanig Ranch to go with Grandpa Chanig to check the cattle as well as going for drives with Grandpa Collens and listening to his stories about when he served in WW II. He was and avid reader of history most of his life, he liked animals, especially cats. Donations in Chris's memory may be made to Canadian Mental Health Association 176-4th Ave N.W.
