Caroline Messenger Obituary

Messenger: Caroline Heather Messenger (Nee: Mclean), age 74, of Waldeck, SK. passed away March 7, 2019 at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon. Caroline was born in June 23, 1944 to Lillie and George McLean, the middle of seven children. After moving around Saskatchewan, they settled in Wadena, Sk. After finishing high school, she attended secretary school. She then worked at the Red and White in Wadena. In 1965, she met her soulmate, Walter Messenger. On November 13, 1967, they were married. Caroline became a farm wife. They added two children to their family. They farmed outside of Wadena until 1979 and then moved to Cando and farmed there until 1987. Caroline then attended SIAST in Regina and obtained her Graphic Arts Certificate. The family moved to Swift Current in 1989 and Caroline spent ten years working at the Booster, before semi retiring to help care for her grandchildren. She spent her retirement with her crafts, little dogs and her flowers. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. She was predeceased by her mother and father, brother Doug, brother-in-law Gord, sisters Jeanette, Beth and Beaulah. She is survived by her husband of 51 years Walter, her daughter Shelly, son Curtis (Tracy), grandchildren Dustin, Lillie and Jeanette, sister Muriel and sister-in-law Mabel and numerous nieces and nephews. In her memory, memorial donation may be made to the Swift Current S.P.C.A. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Warren's Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
