We are heartbroken to announce the unexpected passing of Beverly Louisa Montgomery on July 8, 2026 after a short battle with cancer. Bev lived her life to the fullest and was one of the most beautiful, kind-hearted, generous, and loving persons you could ever meet. Bev’s husband, Roy, was the love of her life, and they shared a strong bond that has led them on many adventures. Bev has two beautiful daughters, Kerry (Derek) Skrudland, and Kim (Morgan) Buckingham. She adored her grandchildren more than anything in the world: Carrson and Rhett Skrudland; and Claire, Lily, and Dane Buckingham. She was loved and will be missed deeply by her siblings Joanne (Scott) Dodd, Jim (Sandra) Dodd, and Ken Dodd. Bev is also survived by her mother-in-law, Donna Montgomery, numerous nephews and nieces, and a large circle of friends. Bev was predeceased by her parents, Gordon and Marion Dodd (Neilly), and her father-in-law, Jack Montgomery.
Bev grew up in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, with her siblings and parents who instilled the values of honesty, integrity, hard work, and the importance of family. In her youth, she learned to love the outdoors, camping and swimming at Clear Lake in Manitoba. She went to Palliser Heights Elementary School and Central Collegiate High School. She was known for many traits in her younger years, her wide circle of friends, her fashion and design sense, and her sometimes shy, but graceful and confident personality.
She lived the life that many dream of and shared it with so many beautiful people. She loved live music, road trips on her motorcycle, traveling to Mexico, taking Caribbean cruises, camping in the trailer, and spending time at the lake. In recent years Bev was retired, but before that, she enjoyed working as assistant manager at the Saskatoon and Medicine Hat Costco stores, running the Montgomery & Sons Polaris Dealership with Roy’s family, and looking after their Grey Owl Fish Camp clients.
In her later years, Bev deeply enjoyed her time at the family cabin on Lac La Ronge, with Roy, her children and grandchildren, and her dogs, Chaos, Havoc, and Skye. Campfires, northern lights, wine and good food, boat rides, and time socializing with friends and family filled her soul.
Her battle was hard and we are absolutely devastated by her loss, but we take solace in the fact that her grace, beauty and kindness shone through it all.
A memorial will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Pioneer Saloon in the Swift Current Kinetic Exhibition Park, with the program beginning at 2:30 p.m.
