Arlo May (Hansen) Baumann 97 years old of Swift Current Saskatchewan passed away on April 19 2021. The private family graveside service will be held on Saturday April 24 with Sandra Benallack (Arlo's niece) officiating. Arlo is survived by daughters Lenore Anderson and family, Karen Baumann and family, Beverly (Harold) Higgins and family, Cammie (Ron Scott) Baumann and family, Leaora (Tom) Bucheler and family and son Myles (Linda) Baumann and family. She was predeceased by her husband Alfred her two son in laws Vince Thierman and Herb Anderson. Arlo was raised in a family of nine children and she was the last surviving member. She was born on the Hansen homestead to Chris and Mary Hansen on August 13 1923. She attended Delta School which was about a quarter mile from her home. She married Alfred in Medicine Hat on January 16 1946. She was a cook, hired man, truck driver and a jack of all trades on the Gull Lake farm until Al and Arlo retired to Swift Current in 1977. A few years later she moved to Riverview estates. She loved to curl and later in life watched it on tv. She loved all kind of sports especially her Saskatchewan Roughriders and Blue Jays. She was a whiz at cards and enjoyed it right up until 2 weeks before her passing. She was a great cook who made the best raisin pie. She liked to knit crochet and sew for her family. In earlier days she was active in the MS society, Girl Guides, United Church and other clubs. Her greatest joy was visiting with both her immediate and extended family and friends. She will be missed by her six children twenty grandchildren and twenty five great grandchildren.
