Anne Butz Obituary

Anne Shirley Butz (nee Warner) beloved wife of Herb Butz of Swift Current, passed away peacefully at the age of 83 years, on January 3rd, 2021, at The Meadows Care Facility.  There will be no service at this time due to the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions. Plans are in place to have a Celebration of Life at a later date.
Anne leaves to cherish her memory, Herb, her husband of 60 years, her daughter Laurie Haynes and son Kevin (Holly) Butz; 6 grandchildren, Alicia (Kyle) Downey, Kyla Poole, and their father Stewart. Aanen Butz (Amanda Cherniawski), and his mother Jan, Jacob Butz, Natalie Butz, Teagan B. Murphy and her mother Tatum and 2 great grandchildren, Kinleigh and Drew Downey. She is also survived by her sister Sheila (Wade) Envick and their children. As well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Anne was predeceased by her parents Fred and Mae Warner, parents in-law Chris and Carrie Butz and her youngest son Craig. As well as Laurie's husband Ted Haynes.
Anne was born on a farm outside Herbert, Saskatchewan in the spring of 1937.  She attended Elmwood School and the Swift Current Collegiate where she graduated in 1955. She then headed Regina to train as a Nurse at the Grey Nuns Hospital. She graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1958.  After graduation she moved back home to Swift Current where she began working at the Union Hospital.  She met the love of her life in 1958 and they were married in 1960. Anne also worked at the Carmel Clinic before taking ten years off to win several mother of the year awards. Once she felt she could head back to work she took her nurses refresher course and spent 19 years working at the Palliser Regional Care Centre, until she retired at the age of 60.
She was involved in the Beta Sigma Phi group, and the Shrine Ladies, where she made many lifelong friends, but her biggest love was her grandchildren.
Anne loved to swim and could often be found floating in the family pool. She also loved to dance and could often be seen "cutting a rug" at a wedding somewhere. She and her husband Herb were known to have given many dance lessons to family and friends. She was passionate about sports and enjoyed many Roughrider games over the years. Her special interests were her kids, grandkids and great grandkids and whatever they were up to. The list of places and events that she travelled to over the years would fill more space than you could imagine.  Included in all of this were trips to Disney Land and Disney World as well as sporting events that included swimming, skating, soccer, baseball, lacrosse, hockey, basketball, volleyball and track and field. Anne also loved the arts and spent many a night watching plays and other musical performances.  All of this was driven by her passion for leading the cheering section for her children and grandchildren. Anne's love of life was matched only by her love of family. She would have done anything for her kids and later her grandkids.
