Andy Parenteau

André (Andy) Joseph Robert Parenteau, aged 77, from Val Marie, Saskatchewan, passed away on January 7, 2022. He is survived by his loving wife Pauline, his children, Jeanne Normandin (Jesse Grimmer), Marc Parenteau and Danielle Grant (Dean), his grandchildren, Richard Normandin (Alyssa), Julie Normandin, Jessie Grant (Chris Taylor) and Cameron Grant and his great grandchildren, Renellie and Stella. He also leaves behind his sister Huguette and his brother Ghislain Parenteau as well as many nieces and nephews.
Born in Montbeillard Québec in 1944 to his parents Robert and Thérese Parenteau, Andy spent many summers on his grandfather's farm helping wherever he can. He joined the military at the age of seventeen, stationed in Gimli, Manitoba, where he met and married his wife Pauline in 1964 and started his family. He was deployed to Germany for four years and brought his family with him. Being honorably discharged from the service, Andy and his family returned to Québec, where he continued his career in the Federal Public Service. His working career brought him to the Northwest Territories, Manitoba and eventually to Val Marie, Saskatchewan working for Grasslands National Park until his retirement in 1995.
Andy was a long-time member of the Lions Club, The Legion and the Saskatchewan Housing Committee. He enjoyed camping and fishing, carpentry, building and flying remote controlled model airplanes and making wine, which he shared generously with family and friends.
Andy stated that he did not want a public service or memorial, therefor none will be held.
My dad will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
