A gathering to Celebrate the Life of Bob Anderson will be held at a later date.

Bob Anderson was born September 24, 1927 in Swift Current to Harry and Christina (Olson) Anderson. Bob was the second of six children.  He grew up on a farm north of Webb, SK and went to Blessum School near Webb until grade 8.
As a youngster, he enjoyed playing ball in the summer and hockey in the winter.

When Bob was done school, he worked on various farms in the area.   In 1948 he moved to Swift Current and worked at the Food Market and then Safeway in Swift Current and Regina.  In 1966 Bob started his own grocery store in Webb, Sk.  "Economy Cash and Carry".  The store was heavily damaged by fire in 1974 and Bob was able to escape the blaze with minor injuries.  He rebuilt and continued to operate this successful business until he sold it in 1982.  He was also the Postmaster at Webb and served on Webb's Town Council.  Bob worked at Home Hardware for several years until his retirement.   Bob was an honest man who worked hard to provide for his family.  He was kind and caring, often helping friends and strangers alike.

In 1952 Bob married Lorraine Unger from the Braddock Area and they were blessed with five children.  They celebrated 57 years of marriage shortly before Lorraine's passing in 2009.

Throughout his life Bob enjoyed fishing, curling, baseball, playing cards and games, doing puzzles, and dancing.  His lifelong love was bowling.  He started in 1948 and continued throughout his life.  His last bowling game was at Tisdale Lanes just two months prior to his passing.  Bob mastered this sport and won countless awards and championships, including Gold, Silver, and Bronze at the national level.  In later years Bob, along with his best friend Ron Popien, spent many hours together fishing.

Although Bob did not travel often, he did take several memorable trips usually to visit family.  He and Lorraine travelled to California several times to visit Jim, Mady and their family.  In his later years Bob travelled to New Zealand on two occasions to visit his daughter Allison and to North Carolina to see his brother Jim.

In his 89th year, Bob made the decision to leave Swift Current and relocate to Tisdale to be near family.  With declining health, he had the support of loved ones to assist him in his final years.  Bob was able to live on his own until the last month of his life.
