The family of Alma Salter are saddened to announce her passing on September 12, 2025 at the Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. The memorial service was held on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Swift Current, Saskatchewan with Pastor Patti Sherk officiating. The violinist was Austin Castle. The eulogist was Milt Righetti. The ushers were Jim and Deb Graham, as well as Ken and Arlene Kirwan. The honorary urn bearers were Alma’s grandsons.
Alma Marlyn Salter (nee Emmons) was born in Lafleche, Saskatchewan on April 11, 1937 to Sorah and Edward Emmons. Alma was raised on the farm and took her schooling at Harwood and Woodrow, Saskatchewan.
In May of 1957, Alma married the love of her life, Albert Salter, at the First United Church in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. Alma was a farm wife and school teacher. She had a few special hobbies which included: art and painting, sewing, and horticulture. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, as well as the Swift Current Square Dance Club.
Alma is survived by sons: Darald (Cindy) Salter, and Carl Salter; daughter Elsie Goddard; grandchildren: Jeff, Lisa, Ginger, David, Matt, Susan, Veronica, and Brent; and 10 grandchildren; sister-in-law: Dora Reynolds; brothers-in-law: Alfred Righetti, and Joe Hahn; along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Albert Salter; her parents Sorah and Edward Emmons; brothers: Raymond, Wesley, and Alvin; sisters: Sylvie, Goldie, Wilma, and Wilma’s twin, Wilfred.
