Allan Larson passed away on the land he loved, doing what he loved the most, with his cows (girls) close by, watching over the valley.
Allan was born March 17, 1953, in Swift Current, SK to parents Lue and Vivian Larson. He grew up on the family farm south of Swift Current in the Lac Pelletier Valley. He attended a small one room school, Silver Craig, then attended Wymark school and Medicine Hat High. He worked drilling rigs in Saskatchewan and Alberta. He spent many years employed at Tune-A-Matic in Swift Current all while caring for the family farm where he decided to settle down and ranch.
Allan was part of the Spokesman Motorcycle club with his brothers and friends from 1969-1980. He married Judy Fehr (Whiteford) in 1983, and they welcomed their daughter Carmen in 1988. He enjoyed many things including mechanics, hunting, carpentry, riding & drag racing motorcycles, building guns, spending time with his family and friends, brandings and get togethers with the neighbours, and tinkering on some project in his shop. In April 2007 he welcomed his first and only grandchild Cody.
Allan loved to visit with people and talk about his motorcycles, drag racing, cattle prices, the weather or his next elk hunt in Cypress. He was always willing to lend a hand to family, friends, neighbours and even strangers whether it was to change a tire, drag out a deer, chase cows or fix things.
Allan taught himself how to use a lathe and machine parts and engine blocks, build and program computers, and building gun stocks and parts. Allan and his daughter Carmen were inseparable from the minute he first saw her. When his grandson Cody was born, he was the proudest grandpa in the whole world, and he would drop anything to spend time with him. He loved when Cody and Emryk would come hang out at the ranch whether it was just them or they brought friends and he got to see them all. Reminding him of the younger wilder days with his brothers. He also loved to teach Carmen, Cody, Em and his nieces and nephews, whether it was mechanics, ranching, hunting, or just life lessons in general. Uncle Al was always there to listen if anyone needed an ear, advice, or guidance. A true legend that we all know and love. His mischievous grin and that fluffy white hair were his best features.
Allan is survived by his daughter Carmen Larson (Kyle); grandson Cody Harris; former wife and dear friend Judy Whiteford; sister Donna; brothers Norman (Sandra), Ralph (Delphine), Leonard (Peggy), Roy (Laurel), and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by father Llewellyn Larson, mother Vivian (Ailsby) Larson, brother Ordean Larson, nephew Frank Larson, and many other dear friends.
Allan’s celebration of life will be held on September 5, 2025, 2:00 pm at the Simmie Hall. All are welcome to attend.
