Alice Smith 1918 - 2020. It is time to celebrate the life of Alice Pauline Smith (Sannes). She was born in Fertile, Minnesota on May 26, 1918. Alice passed away on February 6, 2020 at The Meadows Community Heath Centre in Swift Current with her family at her side. She was 101 years old. She had a long life full of love and care for her family and friends. Alice had a creative nature. This was shown by her artwork, cake decorating and photography skills. She loved reading and had novels at her side until her last days. Her hobbies included square dancing, world travel, camping, cards and board games. She was always excited to see her family and never forgot their birthdays. She was a faithful member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Hazlet and later St. Stephen's Anglican Church and St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Swift Current. She is survived by her five children and their families: MAYNARD Haukeness (Connie): Grant (Michelle), Emily, Ethan; Deanna (Alan), Chloe, Sarah; Sandra (Wade), Ben, Katie; LINDA Lefever (Bill): Todd (Caitie), Maureen (Flavia); SHIRLEY Friggstad: Kerri (Joe), Jared and Molly; Jill (Dan), Dax, Daisy; DON Haukeness (Dallas): Kyle (Tanya), Kayson, Cohen, Kinley; ALLAN Haukeness (Brenda): Katelyn (Drew), William, Lucy, Sophie; Lora (Darren); sister-in-law, Donnamae Sannes; along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Oscar and Olga Sannes; husbands Oscar Haukeness and Reginald Smith; brothers Arnold (Myrtle) Sannes, Raymond Sannes; sisters, Orla (Svend) Tychsen and Ruby Sannes; granddaughter, Denise Haukeness and grandson Kenton Haukeness. In 2018, Alice enjoyed celebrating her 100th birthday with 150 family and friends. A special occasion for her. The family would like to express their appreciation for the excellent care and compassionate care she received at The Meadows Community Health Centre in Swift Current. The celebration of Alice's life will be held at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, 665 Central Avenue N., Swift Current SK on February 12, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Olaf Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.
