ZANIDEAN – Ali, 76 years of Swift Current, SK joined his angels in heaven on November 8, 2025. In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
Ali was born in El-Bireh, Lebanon, moving to Canada when he was a young child. He attended school at SCCHS and SIAST Kelsey. Ali worked many years at Co-op Implements and John Deere as a heavy duty mechanic specializing in combines. Ali liked working on cars especially his orange 1972 Camaro. You could often find him in the early mornings having coffee at Trucktown before work. At home Ali had his place at the head of the table where he loved to visit with company and tell jokes. Ali enjoyed spending time with his grandkids until his declining health in the past few years.
Ali is survived by Zakia Zanidean, his loving and devoted wife of 52 years. Son Fadi (Vanessa) Zanidean, grandsons Nabil, Adnan, and Rahim. Son Ray (Carlyn) Zanidean, grandsons Hunter Stephens and Zayden, granddaughter Zienna. Sister Carol (Mahmoud) Hayek. Sister Rose (Omran) Zanidean. Brother Abdou (Shiela) Zanidean. Brother Hamid (Darla) Zanidean. Brother Eddy Zanidean. Brother Tom (Wendy) Zanidean, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ali is predeceased by his mother Ishie Zanidean in 2009, father Husni Zanidean in 2016, sister Mahassen Zanidean in 1998, and brother Reath Zanidean in 2008.
The funeral service was held at the Islamic Centre of Swift Current – Masjid Al-Khair on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Officiated by Moustafa Ahmed. Eulogy was read by Ray Zanidean. Ali was laid to rest at Hillcrest Cemetery.
