Albert Wilson

It is with great sadness that the family of Mr. Albert Wilson, age 105 years old, announce his passing on October 21, 2024 in Swift Current, Saskatchewan.  The Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. from the Royal Canadian Legion in Swift Current, Saskatchewan with Sandra Watson officiating.  Lynnette Houston (Daughter) read the eulogy.  Honorary Pallbearers are all of Albert’s Grandchildren.  A private family interment will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery on Friday, November 1, 2024.

Albert was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta on January 15, 1919.  He married the love of his life on April 6, 1951 in Medicine Hat, Alberta.  They were married for 73 years.  Albert was a retired farmer and a self-taught carpenter. 

Albert loved working side by side with Edith, operating their mixed farm for 36 years north of Lancer, Saskatchewan before they retired in 1981 to the home they built in Abbey, Saskatchewan.  In the fall of 2009, they moved to Swift Current and resided in the Prairie Pioneer Independence Housing and just recently moved to Cypress House in Swift Current.

Albert is survived by his wife Edith; Children: Lynnette (Bill) Houston, Vivian (Pat) Prentice, Sheila (Clayton) Wicks; Grandchildren: Katharyn Houston (Mitch Alma), Tracy (Don) Snell, Ryan (Brandi) Prentice, Jennifer Biensch, Jordan (Leann) Wicks, Kendra Dyrland; Great Grandchildren: Avery and Drey Snell, Delaney and Halyn Prentice, Brooklyn and Caden Biensch, Jake Wicks, Chase and Maeva Dyrland; and sister Violet Dewar.  Albert was predeceased by his parents and parents in law; Grandson in laws; Kirby Dyrland and Rick Biensch; sister Rose Thompson; brother Gordon Wilson and several in laws.

Albert loved the color red.  If you have something red, feel free to wear it to his Celebration of Life.  In Lieu of cards and flowers, the family requests that you please make a donation on behalf of Albert to the
