Albert McCarty

Albert McCarty age 92 years of Shaunavon and formerly of Simmie, SK died on August 28, 2021 at the Shaunavon Hospital and Care Centre in Shaunavon, SK. Albert was born on May 13th, 1929 to Angus and Olive McCarty on the McCarty farm in the Simmie district. He attended school at Cedar View School just a mile from home. When he finish school, he worked with his dad on the farm. When his dad retired, Albert continued farming his father's original homestead, established in 1908. Albert grew grain, raised cattle,and planted an incredible garden. Albert worked hard and played hard. His home was well-kept, and he could cook a delicious meal. He enjoyed winter holidays with his friends, curling, and fishing in the summer. Albert always enjoyed a good laugh and was known for his sense of humour, teasing, and pulling an occasional prank. He was predeceased by his parents, his brothers and sisters-in-law, Clifford (Winnie) McCarty, Murray (Mattie) McCarty, Elmer (Loreta) McCarty, sisters and brothers-in-law, Wilma (Russel Stephenson, Gordon Krause),
Verna (Lionel) Kruse, Hazel (Larry) Larson, and Elsie (Wes) Bolton. Uncle Albert is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. We will miss him dearly and treasure our memories. The family would like to thank the care team at the Shaunavon Care Centre. The graveside service was held on Friday, September 3, 2021 from Memory Gardens Cemetery, Swift Current, SK. The graveside service celebrant was Susan Larson. Pallbearers were Jeff Spetz, Kailey McCarty, Chris Hunt, Chris Larson, Darren Larson, and Jennifer Poppy. Arrangements entrusted to Warren's Funeral Home.
