Thomas Husby

Husby, Thomas Marvin, 86 years of age, from Swift Current, SK passed away Thursday, January 31, 2019 at The Meadows in Swift Current.  There will not be a service at Tom's request.  Survived by daughters Beryl Nelson and Betty Thompson (Calvin), son Larry Husby (Judy), grandchildren Ryan Nelson (Lindsey), Heather Nelson (Kim), Jennifer Thompson (Josh), Bret Thompson (Chanel), Stephanie Husby, Sandra De Coste (Jeremy), Jill De Strake (Damen), 13 great grandchildren, sisters-in-law Helen Small, Alma Small and Agnes Small and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his wife Wilma Husby, his parents Thomas and Elsie Husby, his brother Allen Husby, sisters Gertrude Poirier (Bob) and Verna Nielsen (Willy) and precious granddaughter Karen Husby. As well as brothers and sisters-in-law Robert Small (Anne), Chris Small, Amy Lentz (Basil), Walter Small, Allan Small, Harry Small and Wallace Small.
Tom was born in Tuberose, SK on Dec. 14, 1932.  He was raised on the family farm.  He attended school at Weetslade, White Bear, LCBI and Nutana Collegiate.  He later on took classes at Technical Institute in Saskatoon in mechanics and welding to prepare him to take over the family farm which he did in 1950. In 1953 he married Wilma Small. They actively farmed until 1995 when they moved to Swift Current.  Tom curled, fished, hunted and spent many hours working in his shop.
