The interment service was held at Hillcrest Memorial in Swift Current. The Urn Bearer was Kalen Brenaut. The honorary pallbearers are all who shared in Ron's life. Ron is survived by his spouse, Donna, their children, Cheryl (Alain) Brenaut and Lori (Dieter) Einsporn, grandchildren Kalen and Nadine (Mathew) Brenaut, Tanner and Madyson Einsporn, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Ron is predeceased by his parents, (Lloyd & Fern), his sister LaVane Fraser, sister-in-law Irene Hadden. Ron was born in Gull Lake in 1936. He attended school at Webb until Grade 10 when he began grain farming full-time and working winters as a plumber's assistant at Waterbury in Swift Current. Farming was always his passion. Ron began raising cattle with horses to ride and of course, chickens and turkeys along with numerous cats and always a dog. Every animal was a pet and had a name. Ron met Donna Olimb at a dance in Swift Current and they were married on May 1, 1957. They never missed a dance. Ron loved to hear mom sing and was very supportive of her singing career. Ron was very active in the Webb community. He enjoyed curling, hunting, golfing, softball, and taking late night ski-doo rides with Donna. Ron curled in Webb, Gull Lake and Swift Current and loved bonspieling in many districts meeting people. Ron passed his love of animals to his children and his curling skill. Lori particularly liked to drive the truck for her dad at harvest. Ron was a quiet man but always interested in his children's and grandchildren's lives. He chauffered the girls to their activities and drove many miles to watch his grandchildren play their sports. He was always a good listener and supported his children in their decisions. He was very proud of his family. Ron and Donna enjoyed camping in Cypress and began various trips south with friends in their fifth wheel as empty nesters. There were always numerous stories and shenanigans with each of these trips!!  They also travelled internationally to Hawaii, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, England, Scotland & Wales. Their travels in Canada included all provinces but Newfoundland. Ron was an avid Bronco fan with season tickets since 1967. He hated to miss the games and planned his holidays around the home game schedule. In his later years, Ron enjoyed his TV sports particularly baseball, golf and curling and recently basketball. Ron always had a book on the go. Historical westerns were his favourite. He also spent many evenings playing cards or board games with family and friends. Since moving to Swift Current 7 years ago he has enjoyed his home and his yard. He was still riding the lawn tractor in the summer behind their home. He loved meeting new people and being a member of the Pioneer Good Sams camping group. Ron was a member of the Knox United Church in Gull Lake and was confirmed in 1984. Dad's message to us was to Be Happy and Enjoy Life. In Ron's memory, memorial donation may be made to Autumn House Auxilliary, Box 630, Gull Lake, Sk.
