It is with great sadness that the family of Richard Reimer announces his passing on July 18, 2019 at the Meadows in Swift Current, SK. He is survived by his wife of 47 years Wendy; daughter Alisa; son-in-law Brad; and granddaughter Dani. He is also survived by his brother Don (Tilly); sisters Betty (Wally), Marilyn (Doug), Deb (Doug), and Teresa (Sheldon); brothers-in-law Larry (Deanna), Kim (Shelly), and Ray; and numerous nieces and nephews. Richard was predeceased by his parents John and Lydia Reimer; parents-in-law Leonard and Elinor Retvedt; sisters-in-law Judy Sather and Deb Dahl; brothers-in-law Barry Sather and Bill Sesula; and nephew Stewart Sesula. Richard was born in the Swift Current Union Hospital on September 11, 1948. He took his schooling at Waldeck School and STI in Moose Jaw. On June 24, 1972 He married Wendy Retvedt at the First United Church in Swift Current. In 1977 they were blessed with the birth of their daughter Alisa. Richard worked at the Department of Highways until his retirement after 30 years of service. At the time of his passing he was employed at Home Hardware, where he made many good friends. Richard played many sports but his love for the game of softball was the strongest. He met and made many good friends during his years of playing softball. Richard loved farming with his dad, loved seeing the new born calf's every spring, and loved planting and growing a big garden every year. He could get anything to grow. Richard was a man of few words but his love shone through his eyes when he looked at his granddaughter Dani. He loved that little girl to the moon and back. The graveside service was held from Memory Gardens Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2019 with Reverend Annette Taylor officiating. The pallbearers were Keegan Wheeler, Terry Bender, Paulette Wieler, Melanie Dyck, Jason Nimegeers and Tom Westbury.
