Opal "Berniece" Reed

Reed: Opal Berniece Reed, age 70 of Gull Lake, SK passed away May 26, 2019 at The Meadows in Swift Current. The Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Gull Lake Rink Complex on July 12, 2019 from 1:00 until 3:00 pm. Opal is survived by her husband Kenneth William Reed; son Kevin John (Alex) Reed: daughter Tania Marie Reed (Colin Smith); grandchildren Colton, Manuela, Jordan, Halle and Dylan; sister Alice (Delwood) Buck and family; brother Harold (Eunice) Cooke and family; sister Mary-Lou Herrick and family; sister Linda Hansen and family; sister-in-law Donna (Gerald Ericksteen) and family; brother-in-law Lloyd (Cindy Reed) and family. She was predeceased by her parents Walter and Eloise Cooke; brother Francis Cooke (and surviving family); sister and brother-in-law Florence and Linis Buck (and surviving family); brother-in-law John Hansen; brother-in-law Glen Herrick; sister and brother-in-law Shirley and Floyd Devine (and surviving family) and mother and father-in-law Hugh and Rachel Reed. Opal was born on December 30, 1948 in Eastend, SK. She attended school in Eastend and was married to Kenneth William Reed on March 8, 1969 in Eastend. She worked as an owner, manager and employee for various restaurants and worked in the Home Care with seniors. Opal was a member of the Gull Lake Care Home Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, music, camping, watching curling and the riders and especially watching her grandchildren's sports and school event. She was a wonderful wife, mom, grandma, sister and aunt. She will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her family and friends. In her memory, memorial donation may be made to the ALS Society or the Gull Lake Care Home Auxiliary.
