Michael (Mike) Alan Quebec of Swift Current, Saskatchewan
Passed away: January 17, 2019 at Clover House, Swift Current. At the age of 44.
A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
Mike was unexpectedly diagnosed with a rare form of pancreatic cancer on October 30, 2018.
After a very short and courageous battle, he quietly passed away in his sleep with his mother and father by his side.
Mike is survived by his Parents Peter & Dorothy Quebec, son Keegan Quebec, brother Jeff (Angel) Quebec and their children Liam, Celeste, Kai, Quinn & Rhys. Sister Heather Semancik (Jimmy Allard) and sons Jackson and Cameron. Sister-in-law Angela Quebec and daughters Madison and Allyson, nephew Michael (Mike) Hozempa. Best friend (other mother) auntie Deanne Larson. Best friend and cousin Rick Taylor, special friends Kim Furey (Keegan’s mother) and Cassandra Furey Cameron (Keegan’s sister). Aunts and uncles, Ken (Alice) Quebec, Fern (Lloyd) Thompson, Lorna (Michel) Gabin, Gord Quebec, Dennis (Kathy) Quebec, Trudy Veach, and many kind and wonderful cousins and friends.
He is predeceased by Brother William (Byll) Quebec, sister Belinda Quebec, grandparents Ernest (Pat) & Florence Larson, William (Lorne) & Violet (Vi) Quebec, uncle Dean Larson, aunt Betty Wishart and uncle Larry Wishart.
Mike was born August 10, 1974, Michel Hospital, Sparwood BC. He attended school in: Sparwood and Fernie BC and college in Cranbrook BC.
At the time of Mike’s passing he had been employed by Lee’s Tree Care. He very much enjoyed working for them and loved working outside.
His greatest passion was the outdoors where he loved fishing, camping and dabbling in astronomy. He had much affection for his animals as well as motorbiking. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Mike loved to visit his Grandma and Grandpa at the farm near Simmie, especially going for rides on the tractor and combine.
Mike was born and raised in the BC Rocky Mountains. He moved to Swift Current Saskatchewan in 1993 for various work opportunities and family. His life found him moving all around Saskatchewan and finally settling in Swift Current once again. In 2001 he became a loving father whose greatest happiness was raising his son Keegan.
Donations in memory of Mike can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, SPCA Swift Current, or to a charity of donors choice.
