Luella Klaudt

              January 28, 1926 - December 19, 2018
Luella passed peacefully at 12:45 pm, noon hour on  December 19, 2018 at Cypress House Care Home in Swift Current Saskatchewan. She was 92 years of age.
Luella was born on Jan 28th 1926 and raised on a farm 8 miles west of Hodgeville, Sk She was the 7th child of 12.
Luella was predeceased by her parents Frederick and Katherine Springer and 10 siblings. She was also predeceased by her loving husband of 52 years Leo Klaudt, deceased April 3, 1998 and her partner of 10 years Reinhardt Bassindowsky; deceased 2009. Luella is survived by her younger sister Viola Oman and many nieces and nephews.
 Luella moved to Swift Current at the age of 18 in 1944 and during the WWII time period worked in the Swift Current Horse Meat packing plant. She married Leo Klaudt in November,1946. During the rest of her life in Swift Current she was actively involved in the community. After a brief retail job at Christy Grants store, Luella became renown in her job as manager of the Swift Current Sally Shop where she served many customers over the years that became her long-time friends. She served as the President of the Swift Current Fraternal Order of Eagles and then became the Canadian representative to Eagles Club meetings abroad. She liked to travel extensively and spent many winters as a snow bird in Apache Junction, Arizona. Luella was a dedicated Lutheran Church congregant for many years and enjoyed singing in the church choir. She also donated lots of her time and energy to the daffodil fund raiser campaign for the Canadian Cancer Society.  We ask that in lieu of flowers please make a donation to St. Olaf Lutheran Church, 665 Central Avenue N. A prayer service will be held on December 29th at 11:00 am at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Swift Current. Interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Burial Park.
