Lloyd Busch Obituary

Busch, Lloyd age 86, passed away on October 12, 2019.  Lloyd was born in Vanguard Hospital on October 17, 1932, and attended Emmery School.  He married his life-long partner Louise Straub on June 4, 1955 at Salem Lutheran Church, Hodgeville, SK.  They farmed west of Hodgeville for 30 years.  Lloyd always felt blessed that he was able to earn a living doing what he loved - working with horses and cattle - keeping the grass and hay fields green!  When he was needed, and had time, he worked part-time at the Hodgeville Vet Clinic.  In 1984 Lloyd had a dream of a "Golf Course"  running through the horse paddock, and along Wiwa Creek.  Plans and development began and with determination, hard work, he had grass greens and watered fairways!  A Club House was built by the Hodgeville Hutterite Colony.  The L2 Golf Course was officially opened September 19, 1987. Lloyd retired to Swift Current in 1994 and worked at Memory Gardens Cemetery on ground maintenance.  Then part-time at the Southside Co-op Service Station as "pump jockey."  He enjoyed the teasing and joking with his senior customers.  Lloyd served as R. M. Lawtonia councilor, and also served on Salem Lutheran Church Council in Hodgeville, SK.  He enjoyed visiting with family and friends.  Was very social, enjoyed dancing, and jamming with "The Boys." He was a true and generous friend. He was predeceased by parents Phillip and Elsie Busch; brother Vern Busch; parents-in-law Henry and Mary Straub; brothers-in-law Woodrow Newton and Donald Straub.  Lloyd is survived by his wife Louise Busch; sister Eileen (Busch) Newton; sister-in-law Marlyllis (Newton) Busch; brothers-in-law: Arthur Straub (Jean Straub), Larry Straub (Linda Straub); sister-in-law Lois (Straub) Cade; and many nieces and nephews.  The memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 18, 2019, from St. Olaf Lutheran Church with Pastor Greg Keil officiating.  The organist was Arlie Neufeld.  Craig Busch was the urn bearer.  In memory of Lloyd, donations may be made to the Canadian Lutheran World Relief, 600-177 Lombard Ave., Winnipeg, MB  R3B 0W5; or to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre St., Regina SK, S4P 2R3.  Warren's Funeral Home were entrusted with the arrangements.
