Jim Warren Obituary

Warren:  James (Jim) age 79 of Swift Current, SK, passed away Friday October 18, 2019 at Willow Creek Manor.  The private family funeral service was held October 22, 2019 at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of Warren's Funeral Home with Rev. Annette Taylor officiating.  The interment service was held at Memory Gardens Cemetery.  Jim is survived by his wife Carol; daughter Jackie (Ryan) Hunter and their children Davis and Carianne; daughter Jane Hughes (Gary) and their children Josh and Steven.  Sister-in-law and brother-in-law Pat and Milt Criddle; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bill and LuAnne Craig. Several nieces and nephews and two step grandchildren.  Jim is predeceased by his parents Charles and Marie Warren; in-laws Jack and Annie Craig; and brother and sister-in-law Dick and Winnie Warren.  Jim was born on March 4, 1940 in Swift Current, SK and attended Elmwood School and SCCI.  He married Carol Craig June 15, 1963 at the First United Church.  Jim worked at the family business at Warren's Funeral Home as a teenager after school and on weekends.  Jim continued his education in the funeral industry and on November 25, 1960 at the top of his class he received his Saskatchewan Embalmers Association Certificate of Qualification.  Jim was involved in the community and belonged to the Kinsmen, K-40, Swift Current Indians Baseball Club, was a Founder of the Swift Current Broncos as well as a Director of the Western Savings and Credit Union.  As a young man he coached minor hockey and baseball and refereed many hockey games.  Jim loved all sports and was an avid Bronco fan.  Jim had a kind heart and generous nature that was evident to his family and others throughout his life.  We will miss his cheerful whistling, teasing and sense of humor.  To Live in the Hearts of Those We Love is Never to Die.  Jim's family would like to give special thanks to the caregivers at Willow Creek Manor for their exceptional care and attention given to him as well as his family.  Donation's in Jim's memory may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
