Harry Wilson Obituary

Harry Arthur Wilson (December 12, 1927- September 27, 2019) from Morse, Saskatchewan, passed away at the Herbert Nursing Home on Friday, September 27th, at the age of 91 years. He was predeceased by his wife Connie (nee Heddle) in 1997; his parents, James and Mary Wilson; and his sisters, Florence Blondin, Margaret Deobald, Muriel Leisle, and Ellen Roh; as well as brothers, William "Bill" Wilson, Earl Wilson, and Cecil Wilson. He is survived by his sister, Agnes Leisle and her husband, Walter. Harry has five children: Lorry (Pamela), Deb Thorn (Jim), Butch (Sharon), Angel (Doug Wells), and Darcy (Karen). He was a loving "Grampa Harry" to his ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. His many nieces and nephews, and their children, were always special to Harry, as were his good friends and neighbors. Dad and Mom, who married in 1951, operated a mixed farm south of Morse. Despite how busy their lives were, they always took time to encourage us to do well in school, work hard, have fun and be involved in the community. Through "rain or shine", they drove us to 4-H, hockey, figure skating, curling, school dances and special town events. Like Harry's father before him, it was important the "Wilson farm" continue through the generations. Despite the tough years and crop failures along the way, dad's determination and persistence to keep the farm going became his legacy: the "Wilson Farm" is now well over 100 Years Old in the same family. Dad taught us the value of hard work. He taught us that success comes only with sacrifice, taking risks and always doing the right thing. Most of all, dad instilled in each of us, that "family" is the greatest accomplishment of all. Harry A. Wilson was a great farmer, and a good man. The family would like to extend our sincere gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Suresh Kassett and the Herbert Nursing Home staff for their outstanding care over the past few years. Dad always commented on how much he loved the food. The care and quality of service provided by everyone at the Home was exemplary. The support and professionalism helped make dad's final days so much easier for him and his family. At Harry's request, there will be no funeral.
