Foy: Elsie Foy, age 92 years, of Abbey, SK passed away January 9, 2019 at Prairie Health Care Centre in Cabri. The Memorial Service was held at 2:00 pm Friday, January 18, 2019 from Abbey United Church with Reverend Salesi Takau officiating. The organist was Sandra Watson and a duet was performed by Paulette Hadden and David Hagel. Special memories were shared by her grandchildren Jennifer Nairn and Lacey Nairn Pederson. Scripture readers were Krista Nairn and Andrew Nairn. The Life Tribute was given by Dolly Foy. The Urn Bearers were Bradley Foy and Robert Foy. Honorary pallbearers are all who shared in Elsie's Life. The interment service took place at the Abbey Community Cemetery. Elsie will be greatly missed be her children, Pamela (Lyle) Nairn, David (Dolly) Foy; grandchildren Jennifer Nairn (Eric Anderson), Bradley Foy (Jenn Kwiatowski), Lacey (Garrett) Nairn Pederson, Krista Nairn and son Everett, Robert Foy (Rachel Heard) and son Jaxon, Andrew (Angela) Nairn and children Ivy and Weston; brother George Fullerton; nieces Linda Martin, Catriona Smith and Sonia Ramsay in Scotland. She was predeceased by her parents George and Margaret Fullerton, (nee Garden), husband Lorne, sisters Polly, Margaret and Alice. Elsie was born at West Town Cottage, Tarland, County of Aberdeen, Scotland on August 22, 1926. She attended school at Glendye, Finzean and Aberdeen, Scotland. Elsie immigrated to Canada arriving in Abbey in May of 1957. She married Lorne Foy on December 28, 1957 and they lived on the farm south of Abbey until April 1986. They moved to Swift Current and Lorne passed away in 2003. Elsie moved to Heritage Villa in Abbey in March 2015 and remained there until October 2018. In November she became a resident of the Prairie Health Care Centre in Cabri. Elsie enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzle, word find, volunteering, gardening, golf, knitting, reading, cooking, watching curling and baseball on T.V. and since living at the Villa, coffee with "The Girls". She also was a faithful supporter of the Abbey United Church Farmers Market. In her memory, memorial donations may be made to the Cabri Union Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, Box 104, Cabri, Sk. S0N 0J0.
