HEUER: Edward Albert age 97, passed away at the Meadows in Swift Current, SK on October 11, 2018. He was born in Swift Current, SK on August 7,1921. Ed is survived by his children Chris and Terry (Marnie); and his sister-in-law Jean. He is predeceased by his wife Pearl; parents Herman and Olga; sister Clara (Gordon) Campbell; and brother Earl. Ed attended school in Burnham, SK. He married Pearl Davis in Swift Current on June 25, 1948. Ed worked on his parents farm in Burnham until he was married, then took a job at the Pioneer Co-op garage in Swift Current as an automotive mechanic for five years, then moved on to the Department of Highways as a heavy duty mechanic and machinist. He worked there for 30 years, retiring in 1984 as shop supervisor. As a young man he was a member of the Burnham baseball team. Ed played recreation hockey, and later on coached his son in minor hockey. He had a lifelong love of fishing, spending both summers and winters fishing. One winter he built a wooden boat in the basement of his home, dismantling it in the spring, reassembling it in his garage and used it for years fishing with his family. He was a jack-of-all trades, nothing was too hard for him to fix and he would work for hours on a project until it was repaired successfully. He also enjoyed travelling, camping and going on long walks. He was a loving, caring father and will be sadly missed by both his sons. We wish to express a special thank you to the nurses and staff of House 18 at the Meadows who took such good care of our father. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Parkinson's Society of Saskatchewan #110B-2103 Airport Drive, Saskatoon, SK S7L 6W2. Warren's Funeral Home were entrusted with the arrangements.
