Doug Lamb Obituary

LAMB: Douglas Earl age 93 of Swift Current, SK and formerly of Ponteix, SK passed away on November 7, 2019 at the Cypress Regional Hospital. The memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 with Reverend Annette Taylor officiating. The pianist was Marilyn Ginther, the eulogy was read by Gerry Lamb and Marvin Lamb and the ushers were Kyle Sinclair and Kyle Marian. The honorary pallbearers were Troy Lamb, Steven Lamb, Kurtis Lamb, Stacey Clare, Scott Lamb, Megan Lamb and Brady Lamb (in Germany). The interment service took place at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Swift Current, SK.  Doug is survived by his wife Hazel; his children Gerry, Marvin and Carolyn; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; his niece Cheryl Lamb; as well as numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his parents James and Ethel Lamb; brothers Milton and Lloyd; and sister-in-law Lynne. Doug was born in Ponteix, SK on March 13, 1926 and attended McKnight Country School. He was united in marriage to Hazel Wellbrock on December 8, 1948 at the First United Church. Doug was a farmer but also a taxi and school bus driver. He was an Elk's member, first in Aneroid and then in Swift Current. He enjoyed curling and was a General Leaders of Glenvern 4-H Beef Club. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kinsmen Telemiracle Foundation 3-2217 C Hanselman Court, Saskatoon, SK S7L 6A8 would be appreciated by the family.
