Evans, Verna Johanna passed away peacefully on December 28. 2011 at the Palliser Regional Care Centre at the age of l00 years. She was born in East Grand Forks, Minnesota. U.S.A. on April 22. 1911.
She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Stan Fleck and Richard (Carolyn) Evans; grandchildren, Janice (Dale) Fleck, Doug (Zena) Fleck, Deborah (Ron) Miller, Dean (Deb) Evans and Jody (Kirk) Maruska; 10 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; nieces. nephews, extended family and friends. Her family was the highlight of her life.

Predeceased by husbands, Stephon Fleck, Elwyne Evans, Lawrence Knowlton and very special friend, Charles (Chick) McCurrach; parents. John & Velgard Ferestad; one sister, Stella (Charles) Turncliff one brother, Kermit (Cora) Ferestad; daughter-in-law, Nina
Fleck; niece. Lorraine Puff and nephew, Ken Ferestad.
Verna worked in several restaurants before retiring from the Swift Current Co-op after 28 years of dedicated service. She was an avid member ofthe Royal Canadian Legion, Eagles Club and the Senior Citizen Centre. She loved to dance, play bingo & cards and
visit with her many good friends. She had a real passion for gardening and continued to do so until the age of 96 years.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Palliser Regional Care Centre for the excellent care given to her. She often talked highly about them.
A celebration of life will be held at Warren's Funeral Home. 126- 2nd Ave. N.E. , Swift Current on Saturday, May 26 at 2 p.m. with Lay Minister, John Regier officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliser Regional Care Centre. Activity Centre,
440 Central Ave., Swift Current, S9H 3G6 or a charity of your choice.
